Boquette, Panama - an area of extreme peace 10/31/2011
I awoke this morning to a torrential downpour. You know the kind I speak of...laying in bed, snuggling under the covers while it pounds on the roof. It is speaking to you..."stay warm and cozy". But as the scent of coffee beckoned to me I thought, "Boquette". The girls turned 16 in 2007 and our gift was a trip to Panama. We spent a day in Panama City and then a week on a boat by Coiba Island. We enjoyed six days of fishing Hannibal Bank, surfing, island exploring, snorkeling and diving. We were exhasted after all of that fun and the last days were spent in Boquette, a rain forest village. Boquette is absolutely gorgeous with incredible views - literally a botanical paradise. Each afternoon there was a tremendous downpour. The sky would open up and it seemed it would never end. This brought an immediate calmness to everyone. Some would nap or read or simply think and enjoy the view. I decided then that if I am ever to write a book it will be in Boquette. The calm and beauty along with the kind people make it the perfect place to spend time in your own head, to let those thoughts, ideas and dreams out onto a piece of paper (who am I kidding, my computer). What kind of book? It doesn't matter - this is the place to spend time with yourself. CommentsLeave a Reply | I Agree...The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
